Elaboration WK4

“An Introduction to Critical Thinking” is something to help students and teachers with critical thinking. It is written by Steven D. Schafersman, and he raises some good points. He mentions that most college students don’t have the skill of critical thinking. He says that this is because there is so much information to be taught in a certain time period that instructors don’t have time to teach critical thinking. This will change in time because as mentioned by Schafersman the importance of critical thinking has been noticed and are going to be instituted in the learning curriculum,.
The issues of students not knowing how to think critically, is true. Some students as Schafersman mentioned could have been taught through science, but not every student may be able to grasp the concept. Being able to think critically is a skill and as mentioned has to be learned. I do believe that critical thinking can also be taught through experience. Some people experiences may make them more skeptical and analytical about what they see and learn. Though these people may be a rarity, it is possible.
